Hawaiian Aroma Caffe

This caffe is located inside the Outrigger Beachcomber hotel on Kalākaua Ave. You'll need to head up the escalator from street level in order to access it, but trust us, it is worth it. We've had açai bowls, smoothies, pastries, and waffles from here and everything has been delicious.

Makapuʻu Point Lighthouse Trail

A paved path showcasing magnificent views of the southeastern coastline of Oahu, as well as some of the neighbouring islands (Molokai and Lanai) on clear days. At the end of the hike, you'll spot the Makapuʻu Point Lighthouse, which is unfortunately not open for visitors, but does make for great photo ops with its red roof. You'll also be treated to beautiful views at the top, and a sneak peek at some of the locations we will be hitting later in the day

A low-key diner that serves some of the best shrimp we've ever had. The garlic sauce is incredible, the steak is cooked perfectly and so juicy, and the mac salad and rice are the perfect sides to make a perfect beach shack meal.

Waimanalo Beach

The waves can be gnarly, with a nasty shore break, so be cautious and always follow lifeguard instructions.
Being on the windward side of Oahu, there is a chance of Portuguese man-oʻwar (jellyfish) being in the water and onshore. Check the Box Jellyfish calendar for days with higher probabilities. The lifeguards do have vinegar in case of stings.
One of the prettiest beaches on Oahu, with beautiful white sand and turquoise waters. The mountains in the background provide stunning scenery and the beach is much quieter than Waikiki. There are lifeguards, public bathrooms, and a large public park.
