Full Day6 stops

A day filled with hikes, lighthouses, lobster rolls, and ocean views... pretty much the best kind of day on the East Coast.

Our day, stop by stop

All prices are per person

  2. Car · ~15 minutes·To Armview Restaurant & Lounge
  3. Armview Restaurant & Lounge

    32.29 CAD

    ~1 hour

Get the lobster eggs benny... it is soooo good. It is market price though, so make sure to ask beforehand to not get sticker shock.

An old-school diner that makes incredibly tasty food.

  4. Car · ~1.5 hours·To The Ovens Park
  5. The Ovens Park

    13.68 CAD

    ~1 hour

This is incredibly niche but I (Kayley) am a lover of Discovery's Shark Week and with Nova Scotia becoming a Great White Shark hotspot, it was so cool to be able to see Cross Island from the walk, which has become a go-to spot for the scientists to research the behaviour of the sharks in Canadian waters.

We drove through the town of Lunenburg to get to The Ovens Park and wish we would have stopped to walk around it, instead of just driving through.

A spectacular cliffside nature trail that culminates in sea caves (aka ovens).

  6. Car · ~1.5 hours·To Peggy's Cove Lighthouse
  7. Peggy's Cove Lighthouse

    ~30 minutes

The weather can change drastically within minutes so be cautious and weary, especially along the rocks. There are warning signs of unfortunate events that have occurred due to carelessness from sightseers.

An icon of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Canada.

  8. Tom's Lobster Shack

    35.34 CAD

    ~30 minutes

We got a truffle and a classic lobster roll to start and loved both, but if we had to choose our absolute favourite was the truffle one.

    Expensive: yes, worth it: definitely

We had many lobster rolls on our weeklong trip around the East Coast of Canada and this was our unanimous #1.

  9. Margaret's Café

    12.54 CAD

    ~5 minutes

It was genuinely freezing for a summer day so we got coffee, a hot chocolate, a cookie, and a brownie to warm up as we strolled through Peggy's Cove.

  10. Car · ~1 hour·To Halifax Waterfront
  11. Walk · ~5 minutes·To Sea Smoke Restaurant & Bar
  12. Sea Smoke Restaurant & Bar

    66.59 CAD

    ~1 hour

We sat outside at a table that had a fireplace built into it and it was so perfect for the slightly chilly temperatures that were creeping in as the sun was setting.

A Japanese restaurant with some incredible tasting sushi rolls.
